Welcome

I am Hari. Philadelphia is my home. I live a few blocks from South Philadelphia, one of the most historic Italian American neighborhoods in the United States. Part of the year I also live in Volterra (Region of Tuscany, Province of Pisa).

I was born in the South Indian state of Kerala. I speak Malayalam and Tamil in addition to English. I have an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a graduate degree in Management. 

I fell in love with Italy when I visited the country for the first time in 2003. I visited Italy several time since and eventually ended up buying a small flat in the historic hill town of Volterra. The flat is only a five minute walk from the famous Piazza dei Priori!

I created this website in 2020 to share my experiences regarding moving to Italy, buying a property, renovating a property and life in Italy in general.
