Rome is one of my favorite cities in the world. This historic city has some of the finest hotels in the world, located all over the city; so whether you’re looking for accommodation near the city’s top attractions or beside the airport, there’s something that will perfectly suit your requirements.
Rome is one of the most visited cities in the world. About 1.5 million people from the United States alone visit Rome every year. So it is not easy to find cheap accommodations, particularly near the historic area of Rome.
The following are some of my suggestions. Please note that the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and the Spanish Steps are relatively close to each other. I normally pick a hotel in this historic neighborhood and take the taxi to the Colosseum and the Vatican.

If you are planning to walk to the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish Steps or Piazza Navona, you will save a lot of time by staying on the Via Giovanni Giolitti side of the station and not the Via Marsala side of the station.

The Best Hotels Near Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO).
The Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport, Fiumicino (FCO), is the main airport of Rome. There are many hotels near the airport. Note that it is very straightforward to get to the airport from Roma Termini (the main train station of Rome). There are direct trains (Leonardo Express) from the airport to the termini. So unless you have a very early morning flight out of Rome, you might as well stay near Roma Termini which is a 20 minute walk away from the Trevi Fountain.
Hilton Rome Airport Hotel.
This contemporary hotel couldn’t be closer to Rome’s main international airport, making it the perfect place for weary travelers to spend the night. Just 5 minute’s walk from the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, the hotel also provides a free shuttle bus for its guests.
